Voting Accessibility/Advocacy
Guide to the Help America Vote Act
Full Text of the Help America Vote Act
Ensuring that the electoral process is accessible to all voters with disabilities is an important element in getting out the disability vote. The Missouri Disability Vote Project advocates at all levels of government for accessible polling sites and voting equipment. By working cooperatively with the Missouri Secretary of State, local election boards, and county clerks, the project’s coalition assists election authorities in working with Help America Vote Act regulations by upgrading to accessible polling sites and implementing electronic voting equipment designed for greater accessibility. Staff and leaders of the Missouri Disability Vote Project also advocate with state and federal legislatures for laws protecting the right to vote for people with disabilities and increasing access to the vote for all.
