Community Advocates

Is there a part of your community that is inaccessible and impeding your independence? Would you like to see more accessible housing? Do you care about accessible public transportation? Would you take an active role in changing policies? If you answered yes to any of these questions you should consider becoming a Community Advocate.

Community Advocates are individuals who desire to make change in their community through advocacy. The Community Advocates Program assists individuals with developing or enhancing independent living and advocacy skills. The program will focus on four central issues:

  1. Political participation and legislation
  2. Architectural accessibility
  3. Transportation
  4. Sidewalk, housing accessibility

The Community Advocates meet every Friday from 10:00am-12:00pm at the Paraquad office.
