Support Paraquad

Major budget cuts to human services programs are having a catastrophic impact on individuals with disabilities who are living at or below the poverty level. These cuts affect mental health, insurance and health services programs.

In 2013, Paraquad served 2,651 people with disabilities:

  • 80.6% have annual household incomes of less than $20,000
  • 51.2% have physical or cognitive disabilities
  • 16.1% have mental, hearing or visual disabilities
  • 54.2% are 25-59 years old and an additional 31.5% are over age 60

Some of our programs are severely underfunded. The need is great, and is continuously growing. With your help, we can continue to help the many participants using these programs. Here are just a few examples of the great things Paraquad does that doesn't receive nearly enough funding:

Repair and Reuse Program: Takes donated durable medical equipment and repairs it, then sells the equipment at a sizable discount to those who need it most. Through this program, our technicians also repair equipment already belonging to participants.

Health and Wellness Program: Provides an accessible gym to those who cannot use community centers. The center also includes a mobility course for those wishing to learn to maneuver wheelchairs up and down ramps, and on different surfaces.

Please join us in helping people with disabilities lead lives of dignity and self-reliance. Pledge your support with a gift to Paraquad.
