Disability Awareness

Speakers Bureau

The Speakers Bureau Program strives to educate the St. Louis community about disability-related issues. Members present disability awareness workshops to businesses, service providers, rehabilitation centers, religious organizations, colleges and universities.

Our staff can create programs on a wide range of topics and tailor a presentation to meet your organization's needs.

Program fees vary.

For additional information about Paraquad's Speakers Bureau, please contact Kate Thacker at 314/289-4233 (voice), 314/289-4252 (TTY).

Disability Awareness Posters

paraquad disability awareness posters we believe there's nothing more disabling than pity we believe everyone has the right to be heard we believe the corporate ladder needs more wheelchair ramps we believe in the pursuit of happiness, no matter what the vehicle we believe a spinal cord injury can't paralyze the human spirit

We hope you'll agree that these photographs capture the spirit of self-determination and achievement typical of persons with disabilities. These striking images were captured by renowned St. Louis photographer Michael Eastman, whose work has appeared in New York art galleries and in many national publications, including Time Magazine. We are honored that Mr. Eastman donated his craft to Paraquad.

We are pleased to now make these photographs available to the general public. We've increased the photographs to poster size, 18" x 25". Displayed in a prominent location, they can graphically convey a spirit of inclusion for all people, and the need to eliminate barriers—both physical and attitudinal—for people with disabilities.

Proceeds from poster sales are used to continue our work of empowering people with disabilities to live independent, productive lives.
