Who are you voting for? Take Note of New Missouri Districts

Posted on June 14, 2012 by Amanda Beals

Due to a slight population decrease over the past decade, Missouri was required to draw new legislative districts for the 2012 elections. This means that for a vast number of registered Missouri voters, your legislative district has changed!

This could cause some confusion for Missouri voters who have grown used to their old district numbers and incumbent legislators. But there is no need for confusion! The Missouri Office of Administration has created a great resource that Missouri voters can use to identify their new district lines and numbers.

After you identify your new district, be sure to see who is running for office in each of your districts. Filing for candidates has closed, so check out the Secretary of State's website to familiarize yourself with the people you will be choosing to represent you this fall.

Finally, be on the lookout for the Missouri Disability Vote Project’s Voter’s Guide (MDVP), which will be available in July. The MDVP sent out disability-specific policy questions to each candidate running in every Missouri election. Candidates who have chosen to participate will have their responses published in our guide, available to anyone who requests one.

Voter Registration Deadline for the State Primary is July, 11

August Primary Election is August 7
