Celebrating National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM)
Time: 12:00 – 1:30 pm CST
Date: Wednesday, October 14, 2020
Place: The comfort of your own home or office
October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month and this year’s theme is Increasing Access and Opportunity. Especially during the COVID 19 pandemic, it is important to recognize and celebrate the many diverse contributions of workers with disabilities.
This session will focus on the ways your organization can observe NDEAM and show your commitment to employing people with disabilities throughout the year. Attendees will walk away with ideas and strategies to create an exciting and engaging campaign. This is a valuable opportunity for anyone, but those who work with employee resource groups, diversity and inclusion committees, and in hiring and recruiting will find it particularly engaging.
Topics Covered Include:
- recruitment and hiring
- retention and advancement
- laws and regulations
- how to create an accessible and welcoming workplace
We will also provide a list of ideas for starting your campaign, as well as a review of campaign materials and resources. You can register for this event using the form below; the cost is $25 per attendee. Please contact Mary Thompson at firstname.lastname@example.org/314 289-4206 with any questions or concerns.
