‘Breaking Down Barriers’ voter education presentations are geared towards people with disabilities and people who work with them.  It covers common barriers to voting in-depth and how to ensure that you and the people in your life can overcome them and be heard at the polls.  Why voting is important, the registration process, what to expect on Election Day, accessible voting, absentee voting, and your rights as a Missouri voter are all covered.  The presentation ends with open Q&A.

Because of COVID and the changes in mail-in voting in Missouri this year, we get a lot of questions and requests for presentations devoted to that process.  In response, we’ve also scheduled some shorter, 30-minute seminars for voters who are pretty familiar with how to vote, but who would really like more clarification on the mail-in process this year.

For people who would like some one-on-one help registering to vote or requesting an absentee ballot, we host a voter registration open house each week.  We individually go through the process with participants, fill out and print an absentee ballot request, mail it to the person to sign along with an envelope already postmarked and addressed to his or her local election authority.

In addition to our scheduled presentations, we are always happy to present to groups and tailor the information to their specific needs.  If you would like for us to speak directly to your group, we’re more than happy to coordinate a presentation at a time that works best for you.
